WEST, UNIT #3 On motion of Council Mwber Reid, Olson second, Council set the heretofore set forth item, identified as item 2, for Public Hearing on Wednesday, August 15, 1984 at 7:30 p.m. ITEM OF The City Manager also reported that - IhTEREST Recommended that the San Joaquin County Planning Commission deny the request of Baumbach and Piazza, Consulting Engineers, on behalf of Chris Keszler and Fred Baker for the approval of a Tentative Parcel Map to divide a 52.6 acre parcel into two parts with Parcel "A" containing 3 acres, and Parcel '93" containing 49.6 acres on the east side of Lower Sacramento Road, 200 feet south of Vine Street. 2. Conditionally approved the Tentative Parcel Map to combine Lots 4 and 5 Industrial Light Subdivision (i.e. 815-821 Black Diamond Way) in an area zoned M-2, Heavy Industrial as requested by Baurbach and Piazza, Consulting Engineers on behalf of Mark Kidd and Fred Smith. 3. Conditionally approved the request of Lustre -Cal Nameplate Corporation for Use Permit to allow the temporary use of a 12 foot by 60 foot commercial coach at 110 East Turner Road during the remodeling of the Art Department in an area zoned M-2, Heavy Industrial. 4. Council Member Raid advised the Council that he had received a telephone call from Alice 1Vbollett, 1011 Pinot Noir, Lodi, asking that Council Member Reid convey her feelings that this parcel should be sold back to the original property owners from whom the City purchased the property at the price it was sold to the City. Staff was directed to check into what agency would have the responsibility for the safety of these waters. AGENDA ITEMS PJUK 'S OF THE CITY MANAGER p REGULAR AR CALEM)AR HALE PARK AIR- Following introduction of the matter by City Manager Glaves, CCMITICNING Council, on motion of Counci 1 Member Olson, Reid second, SYSTEM SPECS approved the specifications for air-conditioning systerrr-Hale APPROVED Park Building, and authorized the advertising for bids thereon. SALE OF 4.7 ACRE Agenda item K-2 - "Sale of 4.7 acre parcel on Beckman Road, tv PARCEL ON BECK- one-half mile south of Kettleman Lane" was introduced by MAN ROAD, ONE City Manager Glaves. Mr. Glaves reminded the Council that HALF MILE SOUTH on April 4, 1984, the City Council authorized the appraisal _ OF 10=iT IAN of the subject parcel to determine a current market value LANE APPROVED prior to determining the method of disposal of this parcel of surplus property. The appraisal has been conducted and a market value of $35,000 has been determined by the appraiser. The City paid $22,050 plus costs for title, escrow and recording fees. A lengthy discussion followed with questions being directed to Staff. Council Member Pinkerton moved that the City sell the subject parcel back to the people from whom the City purchased the property in 1976 (Tindel Ranch Associates) at the price the City purchased the property. The motion was seconded by Council Member Olson. The motion failed to carry by the following vote: Ayes: Council Members - Pinkerton and Olson Noes: Council Member - Reid and Hinchman Both the City Manager and City Attorney expressed that they would have problems with the City selling this parcel for less than the appraised value. Additional discussion followed with questions being directed to Staff. Council Member Reid then moved that Council authorize the sale of the subject property to the people from whom the City purchased the property in 1976 (Tindel Ranch Associates) at the current appraised market value of $35,000. The motion was seconded by Mayor Pro Tempore HincYman and carried by the following vote: Ayes: Council Members - Olson, Reid, and Hincitman Noes: Council Members - Pinkerton Absent: Council Members - Snider (Mayor) STATUS REPCRT Assistant City Manager Glenn gave a brief status report on CN SANITARY CITY the Sanitary City Disposal Coupany, Inc., rate increase DISPOSAL COMPANY request. RATE INCREASE Fd QUEST RDQIIEST TO City Clerk Reimche apprised the Council that she had been �y1CCNSI1= LCDI contacted by Mr. William Cook, 15362 North Alpine Road, �- EXHIBIT FCR LOS Lodi, advising that he again is interested in building a ANC,ELES COUNTY community exhibit for Lodi at the Los Angeles County Fair FAIR to be held in Southern California later this fall. The Los Angeles County Fair is the largest County Fair in the world and the largest of any Fair or Exposition, with attendance of over 1-1 million people. Mr. Cook is a resident of Lodi, and has been building displays for Tulare, Mariposa, and Tuolume Counties, as well as the California Raisin Advisory Board, California Wine Institute, and the California Wine Advisory Board. Mr. Cook would provide the City with the necessary insurance coverage and requests that as his fee for providing this service that he be allowed to retain any premiums won by this exhibit. The City Clerk reminded the Council that the City entered into a like agreement with bur. Cook in 1982. A diagram depicting the proposed exhibit was presented for Council's perusal.
