PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING
UNMET TRANSIT NEEDS WITHIN THE CITY OF LODI
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18, 1989 AT 1:30 P.M.
LOEL CENTER, 105 SOUTH WASHINGTON STREET, LODI
The public hearing was called to order at 1:30 p.m. by Assistant City Manager
Jerry Glenn. Mr. Glenn advised the group that one of the reasons for the
hearing is to assist the city in determining what we are doing right and doing
wrong and where improvements can be made in the system.
Mr. Glenn advised that the fifty cent ticket that is purchased is only a small
portion of the cost to provide the ride. The balance of the cost is funded by
sales tax money. A portion of the six percent sales tax that we pay is
allocated to the City of Lodi for transit needs.
The San Joaquin County Council of Governments has to make the determinations of
any unmet transit needs that we have in the city and those must be met before
the monies can be spent for street road projects such as street widening,
street lights and things of that nature.
