SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
CARNEGIE FORUM, 305 WEST PINE STREET
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24,1998
7:00 A.M.
ROLL CALL
Present: Council Members - Land, Mann, Pennino and Sieglock (Mayor)
(Warner resigned 2/9/98)
Absent: Council Members - None
Also Present: City Manager Flynn, Deputy City Manager Keeter, City Attorney Hays, and City
Clerk Reimche
REGULAR CALENDAR
a) Agenda item #13-1 entitled, "Council Interviews of City Council Applicants".
It was announced that the purpose of this Special Meeting was to appoint one of three
applicants, namely Tim Howard, Robert Johnson or Harry Marzolf to fill the Council seat
vacated by David Warner.
Council Member Mann made a motion to appoint Tim Howard to fill the vacancy. The
motion failed due to lack of a second.
Council Member Pennino then made a motion to appoint Harry Marzolf to fill the vacancy.
The motion was seconded by Mayor Sieglock but failed to pass by the following vote:
Ayes: Council Members - Pennino and Sieglock (Mayor)
Noes: Council Members - Land and Mann
Absent: Council Members - None
Mayor Pro Tempore Land then made a motion to appoint Robert Johnson to fill the
vacancy. The motion was seconded by Council Member Mann but failed to pass by the
following vote:
Ayes: Council Members - Land and Mann
Noes: Council Members - Pennino and Sieglock (Mayor)
Absent: Council Members - None
Council Member Pennino then made a motion to appoint Harry Marzolf to fill the vacancy.
The motion was seconded by Mayor Sieglock but failed to pass by the following vote:
Ayes: Council Members - Pennino and Sieglock (Mayor)
Noes: Council Members - Land and Mann
Absent: Council Members - None
Mayor Sieglock then made a motion to appoint Harry Marzolf to fill the vacancy. The
motion was seconded by Council Member Pennino but failed to pass by the following
vote:
Ayes: Council Members - Pennino and Sieglock (Mayor)
Noes: Council Members - Land and Mann
Absent: Council Members - None
Following a brief discussion regarding the matter, Mayor Sieglock announced that the
meeting would be continued to 7:00 a.m., Thursday, February 26, 1998.

ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the City Council, Mayor Sieglock adjourned the
meeting at approximately 7:22 a.m. to Thursday, February 26, 1998 at 7:00 a.m.
