Mr. Sullivan also expressed the Board's desire to work together with the City Council, and further the need for increased funding for the Library in order to continue the level of service in which it is currently operating. Mr. Sullivan indicated he would like to see the 118 cent sales tax initiative be successful; however, Council Member Sieglock indicated he was opposed to the 118 cent sales tax and would rather see the City fund the Library at the current level. It was made clear by the City Council that the Library is another department of the City (as is Public Works, etc.) and it should feel free to request additional funds from the City for capital projects including computerization of the Library. Following further discussion, the Deputy City Attorney was directed to research whether or not resident and non-resident fees can be charged for Library services. It was agreed by both the Council and the Library that this discussion was worthwhile in helping the two agencies work together. cc-a(di 3.
