BACKGROUND INFORMATION: On April 6 and July 6, the City Council directed the City Clerk to post for five expiring terms on the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission; on August 17, 2016, following the resignation of a commissioner, Council directed the City Clerk to post for one additional vacancy. The Mayor reviewed the applications, conducted interviews, and recommends that the City Council concur with the appointments detailed below. Following the resignation of a Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission Adult Advisor, it is recommended that the City Council direct the City Clerk to post the vacancy for 30 days. Government Code Section 54970 et seg. requires that the City Clerk post for vacancies to allow citizens interested in serving to submit an application. ANNOUNCEMENT One (1) Adult Advisor Vacancy on the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission The City of Lodi is currently accepting applications from individuals interested in serving as an adult advisor on the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, developed to affect positive growth in young adults through a variety of activities that will generate interest and participation within the community. The Youth Commission meets on the 2"d Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Cottage Room at Hutchins Street Square, and consists of 6 adult advisors and 9 student members. Applications are now being accepted to fill one (1) vacancy, which is due to expire May 31, 2018. Applications are available online at www.lodi.novlclerkISoardSC2mmissions.
