CITY OF LODI
COUNCIL COMMUNICATION
AGENDA TITLE: Receive Presentation on Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department's
Strategic Plan Survey Findings
MEETING DATE: April 15, 2015
PREPARED BY: Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Director
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Receive presentation on Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services
Department's Strategic Plan survey findings.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services (PRCS) Department
has engaged the services of PROS Consulting to prepare a
Strategic Plan that will serve as a guide for Department operations
in the next five to 10 years.
One of the elements needed to prepare the Strategic Plan is a community survey. This is a statistically -
valid process to gauge unmet needs and the importance of parks, recreation, facilities and cultural
services in the community. The community priorities obtained from this representative sample from
English- and Spanish-speaking populations in Lodi will help guide the implementation plan and
recommendations for the future.
Neelay Bhatt, vice president of PROS Consulting, will present the findings to the Council and the Parks
and Recreation Commission in this joint meeting, and be available to answer questions pertaining to the
survey.
FISCAL IMPACT: Not applicable.
FUNDING AVAILABLE: Not applicable.
