Commissions, and Committees and Related Actions

RECOMMENDED ACTION: Make appointments of Council Members to fill vacancies on various
boards, commissions, and committees and take related actions, as
outlined below.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: With the recent election and reorganization of the City Council, it is
necessary to fill the positions on various boards, commissions, and
committees that are now vacant. In addition, some commissions no
longer exist or are no longer active and should be deleted. The attached appointments list is presented to
Council for information. All vacancies and positions where a Council Member has expressed interest in
resigning, as well as those commissions recommended for deletion, have been highlighted and are
summarized below. It is requested that Council discuss this matter and take the appropriate actions.
Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission
Recommendation: Appoint new Member for an unspecified term limit.
Greenbelt 2x2x2 Committee
This Committee is no longer active.
Recommendation: Terminate committee and remove from list.
Joint City/County Criminal Justice Task Force

2015, appointed Council Member Alan Nakanishi to represent the City of Lodi as the
Delegate on the Northeastern San Joaquin County Groundwater Banking Authority.
Mr. Nakanishi will be completing the term vacated by former Council Member Phil
Katzakian who did not run for re-election in 2014. In addition, the position of Water Plant
Superintendent, which is currently filled by Andrew Richle, will now fill the Alternate
position, replacing Public Works Director Wally Sandelin.
