SUBJECT: ADOPT RESOLUTION APPROVING SALARY ADJUSTMENTS FOR CITY COUNCIL APPOINTEES

RECOMMENDED ACTION The Council approve salary adjustments fcr Council
appointed positions
BACKGROUND INFORMA ION: Resolution 87-157 adjusted control points for the
City Manager (1.5%) and City Clerk (1.8%) effective
December 26, 1988.
Both incumbents are being paid at the control point. The present and future
control points are as follows:

The contract the City Council signed with the City Attorney specified his
performance would be evaluated after six months which should have been due
December 1, 1988. A Closed Session has been scheduled for December 20, 1988
following the "Shirtsleeve" session to be held that date.
When Council adopted the present salary format it was determined that the City
Attorney's control point should be 85% of the City Manager. I f the Council
adopts the proposed control point of $6,758 for the City Manager the control
point of the City Attcrney should then be increased to $5,744.
