As a member, I would work individually and cooperatively with the other commissioners to promote and enhance further the visual and performing arts for adults and children residing within and around the City of Lodi. Art has always been a strong interest of mine. My aunt was an accomplished musician (piano, accordian, flute) and artist (oils, ceramics, copper, aquatint). 1 have always enjoyed practicing the visual arts (drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, textiles, graphics) and learning about art of other cultures. ` Thus, while I attended the University of California, Davis, I minored in Art and studied with such artists as Wayne Thiebaud, Roland Peterson, William Wiley and Robert Arneson. In the last few years, I have also developed an awareness and appreciation for the performing arts.
