RECOMMENDED ,ACTION:
That the City Council receive for fi l inq the San
Joaquin Ccunty Hazardous Waste Management" Plan and
set Wednesday, January ''I8, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. as the
date and time for a public hearing on this'matter.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The County of San Joaquin has recently completed it
Hazardous Waste Management Plan as required by law,
Copies have been distributed to the City Council..
County representatives will be in attendance at the
January 18, 1989 publ i c
hearing to present t h i s report and t o answer questiong
from. the Council and the

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CONCERNING THE SAN JOAQUIN
COUNTY HAZARDOUS WASIE
MANAGEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, Federal and State Statutes mandate an immediate and dramatic
improvement in the way nonradioactive hazardous waste is managed in the nation
and California; and
WHEREAS, AB 2948 was adopted to insure that safe, effective and economical
facilities for the management of hazardous wastes are available when they are
needed, and that these facilities are of a type, and operated in a manner,
which protects public health and the environment; and
WHEREAS, the San Joaquin County Board of SuperN isors, on March 24, 1987,
notified the State Department of Health Services of the County's intent to
prepare a County Hazardous Waste Management Plan (CHWMP) pursuant to AB 2948
If you challenge the subject matter in court you may be limited to raising only
those issues you or someone else raised at the Public Hearing described in this
notice or in written correspondence delivered to the City Clerk, 221 West Pine
Street, todi, California,
at or prior to,
