N0. 83-157• Fbilowing discussion, with questions being directed to Staff, Council, on orotic n of Council Hmber Pinkerton, Murphy second, adopted Resolution No. 83-157 awarding the bid for Stockton Street Watermain, Kettleman Lane to Takay Street to Joe Suter Construction CaTpany, Inc. of Truckee, the low bidder, in the amount of $194,458.60 with the - - condition that Staff be authorized to negotiate for the substitution of ductile iron pipe at a cost not to exceed 10% of the mount of the contract. RESOLUTION NO. 83-157 AWARD - CONTRACT FOR STOCKTON STREET WATERMAIN WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened by the City Cierk of this City on December 14, 1983 at 11:00 a.m. for the contract for Stockton Street Watermain as described in the specifications therefor approved by the City Council November 16, 1983; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows: BIDDER AMOUNT Joe Suter Construction $194,458.60 Wayne Fregien 210,317.00 Gates & Fox Co., Inc. 211,756.00 M. Thomason, Inc. 337,460.00 WHEREAS, the City Manager reccmmends that award be made to the low bidder, Joe Suter Construction Co., Inc. in the amount of $194,458.60. WHEREAS, the City Manager does hereby recommend that Staff be authorized to negotiate for the substitution of ductile iron pipe at a cost not to exceed 10% of the amount of the contract. 83-157 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi that award of contract for Stockton Street Watermain be and the same is hereby made to Joe Suter Construction Co., Inc., the low bidder, in the amount of $194,458.00. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Staff is hereby authorized to negotiate for the substitution of ductile iron pipe at a cost not to exceed 108 of the amount of the contract.
