SUBJECT: Rebuild Police Patrol Unit

The following information is presented for your consideration of rebuilding
Police Patrol Unit No. 10, a 1981 Dodge Diplomat, which has 91,000 miles as
of November 22, 1983.
This Unit was purchased new, October 1, 1981 at a cost of $7,750. The retro
fitting of emergency equipment was $900 for a total investment of $8;650.
If this Unit would be removed from service and replaced with a 1983 new like
Unit, the cost would be; $8,100 for a new vehicle and $725 to remove and re-
install the emergency equipment in the new Unit, for a total investment of
$8,825. The old Unit would be kept for parts, for a value of $1,000 - $1,200.
Selling the old Unit would return $600 - $750.
The following is a breakdown of major component parts to be replaced to pro-
duce a like new vehicle:
