ORDINANCES Ordinance No. 1280 - entitled "An Ordinance amending Section
14-1 of Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Lodi entitled,
'Motor Vehicles and Traffic', thereby amending the
definition of holidays including the establishing of the
Friday after Thanksgiving as a parking holiday in downtown
ORD.AMENDING Lodi" having been introduced at a regular meeting of the
SDC.14-1 OF Council held November 17, 1982 was brought up for passage
CHAPTER 14 RE on motion of Mayor Pro Tempore Murphy, Olson second. Second
MOTOR VEHICLES reading was anitted after reading by title, and the

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 14-1 OF CHAPTER 14
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF LODI ENTITLED, "MOTOR
VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC. "AND THEREBY AMENDING THE
DEFINITION OF HOLIDAYS.
The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
Section 1. The definition of "Holidays" in Section 14-1 of
Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Lodi is hereby amended to
read in full as follows:
Holidays shall include the following days only:
Every Sunday, January first, the third Monday in Febuary,
the last Monday in May, July fourth. the first Monday in
September, September ninth, November eleventh, the Thursday
in November appointed as Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after
Thanksgiving day, December twenty fifth, Good Friday between
the hours of 12:00 noon and 3:00 p.m. If January first, July
fourth, September ninth, November eleventh, or December
twenty-fifth falls upon a Sunday, the Monday following is a holi-
day.
If November eleventh falls upon a Saturday, the preceding Fri-
day is a holiday.''

to read in full as follows:
"Holidays shall include the following days only:
"Every Sunday, January first, the third Monday in
February, the last Monday in May, July fourth, the
first Monday in September, the Thursday in November
appointed as Thanksgiving Day, the Friday after
Thanksgiving Day, December twenty-fifth.
"If a specified holiday falls upon a Saturday, the
preceding Friday is a holiday. If a specified
holiday falls on a Sunday the following Monday is a
holiday."

The City Council of the City of Lodi does ordain as follows:
Section I. The definition of "Holidays" in Section 14-1 of Chapter 14 of the
Code of the City of Lodi is hereby amended to read in full as follows:
"Holidays shall include the following days only:
"Every Sunday, January first, the third Monday in February,
the last Monday in May, July fourth, the first Monday in
September, the Thursday in November appointed as Thanksgiving
Day, the Friday after Thanksgiving Day, December twenty-fifth."
"If a specified holiday falls upon a Saturday, the preceding
Friday is a holiday. If a specified holiday falls on a Sunday
the following Monday is a holiday."
Section 2. All ordinance:, and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are
repeal -insofar as such conflict may exist.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published one time in the "Lodi Life and
Times , a once a week newspaper of general circulation printed and published
in the City of Lodi and shall be in force and take effect thirty days from
and after its passage and approval.
