Dear Mr. (;laves;
I refer you to a meeting which was held the later part of July
1954 at the hose of Mrs. H. B. Rencher. At this meeting Mw
requirements were discussed regarding improvements which were
to be made after South Sunset Drive was annexed to the City of
Lodi.
Your letter of 5 August 1954 indicated that the property owners
did not want to form a Special Assessment District, but preferred
to pay for the improvements in advance to the city. This also
included installment of sidewalks at the coat of ench property
owner.
For some reason most of the property on the East side of Sunset
Drive south of Lodi Avenue did not then and have not to this date
fulfilled their agreement to in*tall sidewalks. All of the West
Side of the street has sidewalk.
I request that the City of Lodi implement procedures provided
in the ordinances of the city to require completion of installation
of sidewalks in the area on South Sunset Drive, south of Lodi
Avenue.
TI -Is will also, increase safety for pedestrians, because people
walk in the street due to lack of the sidewalks on the east side
of the street.

Dear Mr. (claves,
There is before the City Council a petition to restrict parking on
the west side of South Sunset Drive immediately south of Lodi venue.
I wish to express my opposition to this proposal. Such action will
only increase parking in front of my property which is immediately to
the south of the proposed property to be restricted.
The problems referred to in.the petition are not month in and month out
conditions.
We now have a condition that if you park in front of a certain parcel
of property the owner immediately calls the police to protest. This
requires that the police department must take time to check out the
matter only to find that there is no illegality involved.
Reduction of parking may increase the parking in front of this
property which may require more time of a department with mor- important
problems than parked cars in front of this persons property.
If this parking restriction is imposed the property owner will be
restricted from parking in front of his home on Sundet Drive. It
certainly is not possible to park on Lodi Avenue.
In fairness to the property owners immediately adjacent to the area
proposed for restriction, I request that the proposed restrictions
be denied.
How IRp g t q, o e er thin the fist four parcels i►f
