Dear Mr. Giannoni:
This is to advise you that the City Council, at its regular
meeting of November 6, 1985, reviewed your proposal to contribute
the sum of $25,000 toward the installation of a traffic signal at
the intersection of East Kettleman Dane and South Central Avenue.
The Council directed the staff to place this intersection on the
list of those to be reviewed in the City's upcoming traffic signal
priority study. The Council also declined your monetary offer.
In so doing, it expressed appreciation of your offer and in your
interest in traffic safety.
If you need additional information on this matter, please contact
Mr. Jack Ronsko, Public Works'` Director.
Sincerely,
l

DEVELOPMENT & REAL ESTATE CO. INC. -

City of Lodi
City Hall, 221 West Pine St.
Lodi CA 95240
Subject: Kettleman Station
To: City Council,
This is to verify that Search Development & Real Estate Co.
Inc. does intend to develop a 4.38 acre parcel at the in-
tersection of Central Ave. and 11wy 142 into a four lot com-
mercial shopping district called Kettleman Station, map
enclosed. Based on our experience and with city staff., we
'feel that a traffic signal would greatly enhance avoiding
major accidents that may occur due to all of the added cross
traffic and provide a cross walk for pedestrians from the
75 acres now in residential development bounding our property.
In discussing with staff the budgeting for such a traffic cignal,
it was brought up that possibly a joint participation could be
mutally agreed upon. Caltrans I believe is willing to design
the system and provide a controller, Search Development is
willing to provide up to 25,000.00 in cash towards the project
and would have a desire that the light be installed prior to or
simultaneously with the project, because of the nature of the
projects financing.
