NO. 85-151 City Manager Peterson presented the following bids which had been received for a 3/4 -ton utility cargo van: BIDDER BID Plummer GMC $12,138.06 Sanborn Chevrolet $12,488.77 Geweke Ford $12,953.52 City Manager Peterson apprised the Council that the Plummer bid did not meet specifications. Further, Ips. Peterson recarmended that the contract be awarded to Sanborn Chevrolet. TO: City Council COUNCIL COtiIiYIUNICATION VEHICLE/EQUIPMENT DATA FROM: City Manager Originally Budgeted: 1985-86 Budgeted Fund: 016.1-680.01 DATE: October 29, 1985 Amount Budgeted: $12,000 Bid Opening Date: October 23, 1985 SUBJECT: Award - 3/4 Ton Utility Cargo Van RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council award the contract for one 3/4 ton utility cargo van to Sanborn C'nevrolet in the amount of $12,488.77. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This 3/4 ton utility cargo van is a replacement vehicle for the Utility Electrical Division of the Utility Department. Specificatinns for this vehicle were approved on October 2, 1985• The City has received the following 3 bids for this vehicle: BIDDER LOCATION BID *Plummer GMC Lodi $12,138.06 Sanborn Chevrolet Lodi $12,488.77 Geweke Ford Lodi $12,953.52 *Lower bidder did not meet specifications. PETERSON, City Manager rda RESOLUTION NO. 85-151 AWARD - CONTRACT FOR ONE 3/4 -TON UTILITY CARGO VAN FOR THE UTILITY DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened by the City Clerk of this City on October 23, 1985 at 11:00 a.m. for the Contract for a one 3/4 ton Utility Cargo Van for the Utility Department as described in the specifications therefor approved by the City Council October 2, 1985; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows: Bidder Amount Plummer GMC $12,138.06 Sanborn Chevrolet $12,488.77 Geweke Ford $12,953.52 WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award be made to the next lowest bidder, Sanborn Chevrolet inasmuch as the low bidder did not meet specifications. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi that award of contract for a one 3/4 -ton Uitlity Cargo Van for the Utility Department be and the same is hereby made to Sanborn Chevrolet in the amount of $12,953.52.
