MINUTES
PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING UNMET
TRANSIT NEECS WITHIN THE CITY
OF LODI
Wednesday, November 17, 1982
Hail Park Recreation Center Building
209 East Locust Street, Lodi, California
Present were: Ma;or Fred Reid
Mayor Pro Tempore Murphy
Assistant City Manager Jerry Glenn
City Clerk Alice Reimche
Also Present were: Public Works Administrative Assistant Sharon Blaufus and
COG Representative
Paul Hd:rindegui, 717 West Pine Street, Lodi, California, s*ated he felt there was
a need for Dial--A-Ride service on Saturdays. Mr. Herindegui inidicated he was
a member of the Senior Citizens Club.
Ms. Shirley Klein, representing the Loel Center of Lodi, complained about the
lengthy waiting time being encountered by Dial -A -Ride riders.
Betty Harcourt, representing the Community Council, Stockton, California, stated
treat their agency provides transportation for MediCal patients. Ms. Harcourt
stated that she hopes the time will come when their agency can expand on its
transportation service.
Shirley Klein, Loel Center, suggested that Dial -A -Ride fixed -ride routes be
established in advance.
Assistant City Ml;�nager Glenn talked about the need for companions riding with
handicapped.
There being no other person wishing to speak on the natter, the public hearing
was continued to 8:00 p.m., November 17, 1982 in the City Hall Council Chambers.
