Based on the current modes of public transportation which are inefficient. We petition the Lodi City Council: 1. To recognize the need for a public shuttle bus service as a high priority. 2. To then be acted upon within a given date. -------------- 3. System as such to service the nine square miles within the city limits. 4. Economical and Efficient to all. Following discussion, Mayor Snider directed the City Clerk to correspond with the person responsible for the circulation of the petition advising that the San Joaquin County Council of Governments will be holding an Lhret Transit Needs Nearing in Lodi within the next 60 days and suggesting that it would be appropriate for testimony regarding '.ieir concerns to be given at that time. STEIN City Attorney Your petition indicating the need for public shuttle bus service within the City of Lodi was presented to the Lodi City Council at its regular meeting of October. 17, 1984. Following discussion, Mayor Snider requested that I correspond with you advising that the San Joaquin County Council of Goverrvients will be holding an Unmet Transit Needs Hearing in the City of Lodi within the next 60 days. It certainly would be appropriate for you to present testimony at that hearing regarding your concerns about public transportation within this City. May I suggest that you contact Mr. Peter Vercborn, Executive Director of the San Joaquin Council of Goverrny..nts regarding this hearing and its purpose. Mr. Verdoorn's telephone number is (209) 944-2233. A notice of the hearing and the scheduled date, hour, and location will appear in the Lodi News Sentinel prior to the hearing.
