City Manager FROM: Ed DeBenedetti, Director, Recreation and Parks SUBJECT: Moving of Dirt at Hutchins Street Square DATE: October 9, 1984 At the present time there is approximately 100 yards of dirt south of the new field that was renovated at Hutchins Street Square. It is try understanding that the dirt belongs to the City of Lodi and we can do what we want to with it. There is still some mounding that has to be done on the northeast portion of the property just north of the new parking lot facing Hutchins. I would like to make it a project to have that diet moved and the mounds plzced, which means we as a department would have to renovate the sprinkling system, contour the mounds as per plan, seed, and finish. Leaving the mound as it is now is not only unsightly, but I noticed the youth using it for cycle riding, etc. I don't think it is a dust problem yet, but no one knows at this time how long it will sit there. It could be a long time and become a problem. It will cost $1,800.00 to move it,with our department doing the balance of the work. The walks that are shown in the master plan could be done at a late date. I believe you would agree that what I am requesting is logical.
