This is one of our most important and highly traveled streets with Lodi Memorial Hospital (and its emergency room) plus many professional offices. At present there are no speed limit signs going south and the only sign going north is for 25 miles per hour. This sign is placed at the beginning of a school yard fence with a School Zone sign irn ediately following it, giving the impression the 25 mile per hour is for the school zone only. Lodi Avenue, Kettleman Lane and the cross street of Tokay have higher speed limits and the conscientious driver has no warning to slow his speed to 25 miles per hour. Adding to the confusion, the paralleling streets of Crescent, Ham, Mills and Church are all marked repeatedly with 30 and 35 mile per hour signs. Many drivers assume Fairmont Avenue to be the same as these other streets, making radar citations extremely frequent. As a property taxpayer on South Fairmont, I also request a Radar Traffic Speed Survey be )Wade at several points on this street. Judge J. Thomas'. Seibly has publicly stated he would be happy to talk with any City Counci`- members about his feelings on the South Fairmont Avenue speed limit situation. He would welcome your calls. Thank you for your constant devotion in helping to make Lodi truly "Liveable, Lovable Lodi". Sincerely, Belinda C. Proctor BCP :sh cc: J.
