City Manager Peterson presented the following bids which
had been received for three 15-kv vacuum circuit --breakers:

The power circuit ;;reakers will be installed at the McLane
Substation as a part of the Phase 2 development now in
progress. This second phase is required to supply the area
load, including the large industrial load now being
developed, under 'emergency' conditions, commencing with
the 1988 summer seaso,i, and will be needed to supply the
'normal' load in subsequent years.
Funding for this purchase is included in the Electric
Utility Department's 1987-88 budget.

SUBJECT: PURCHASE THREE 15 -KV VACUUM CIRCUIT BREAKERS (EUD-87-10)
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution awarding
the bid to the low bidder in each category, as follows:
Item 1: Two 15-kv, 1200 -amp. Circuit Breakers

Item 2: One 15-kv, 2000 -amp. Circuit Breaker
Howard A. Dunn Co., Inc. 22,896.00

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The power circuit breakers will be installed
at the McLane Substation as a part of the Phase 2 development now in

WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law
and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly
opened by the City Clerk of this City on August 22, 1987 at 11:00 a.m. for the
contract for three 15-KV Vacuum Circuit Breakers, described in the
specifications therefor approved by the City Council August 19, 1987; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a
report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lodi that award of contract for Three 15-KV Vacuum Circuit Breakers, be and the
same is hereby made to, Square D. Company, Item 1, and Howard A. Dunn Co.,
Inc., Item 2.
