The City received the following four bids for this project: BIDDER Engineer's Estimate Stockton Manufacturing Perkins Welding Shields Harper Co. N.J. McCutchen Inc. LOCATION BID $38,000.00 Stockton $34,247.24 Sacramento $35,510.00 Oakland $35,698.68 Stockton $47,462.56 Low bidder, Stockton Manufacturing and Sales Company, does not meet the specifications. Their tank i not an STI -P3 and has no cathidic protection. It was therefore recommended that the contract be awarded to the second low bidder, Perkins Welding. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project is part of the overall State underground fuel tan updating to replace single-wall tanks with double-wall continuous monitored tanks. Plans and specificaitons for this project were approved on September 16, 1987. The City received the following four bids for this project: BIDDER LOCATION BID Engineer's Estimate $38,000.00 Stockton Manufacturing Stockton $34,241.24 Perkins Welding Sacramento $35,510.00 Shields Harper Co. Oakland $35,698.68 N.J. McCutchen Inc. Stockton $47,462.56 _ Low bidder, Stockton Manufacturing and Sales Company, does not meet the specifications. NO. 87-128 AWARD - CONTRACT FOR UNDERGROUND FUEL TANKS -4HEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly opened by the City Clerk o -f this City on October 7, 1987 at 11:00 a.m. for the contract for underground fuel tanks, described in the specifications therefor approved by the City Council September 16, 1987; and WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows: Bidder Amount Stockton Manufacturing $34,247.24 Perkins Welding $35,510.00 Shields Harper Co. $35,698.68 N.J. McCutchen Inc. $47,462.56 WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award for the contract for underground fuel tanks, be made to the low bidder, Perkins Welding. NOW, THEREFORE, 6E IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi that award of contract for underground fuel tanks, be and the same is hereby made to Perkins Welding, the low bidder, in the amount of $35,510.00.
