Speaking in favor of the _proposal was Mrs, Elizabeth Millis,' 525 South Stockton Street, Lodi. a Requesting that the extension of the parking restriction include the north side of Mission Street was Mr. Richard = 011enberger, 211 Mission Street,, Lodi. Mr. ,011enb further requested that a red zone be established on the "left side" of Stockton Street at the Mission Street intersection as it is a "blind spot". There being no other persons in the audience wishing to speak on the matter, the public portion of the hearing was closed. RES. WORKS DEPARTMENT TO: City Council FROM: City Manager MEETING DATE: October 1, 1986 SUBJECT: Parking Restricted Area Extension in Vicinity of PCP Cannery RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council discuss the extension of the parking restricted area in the vicinity of PCP Cannery and take appropriate action. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Residents in the vicinity of PCP Cannery brought concerns to.Council regarding the parkin situation just north of the residential permit area (north of Tokay Street). City Council requested staff evaluate the parking situation in this area. The area was surveyed on three occasions. Staff recommends implementing restrictions similar to those currently established south of this area. The restriction is as follows: "No Parking" for 1 hour from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. except with resident permit The attached exhibit shows the recommended additional permit areas and the "contact" area which has been notified for participation in the public hearing. DEPARTMENT EXTENDED RESTRIGTEp -� PARKING AREAS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF IMI WILL BE CONDUCPING A PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER THE E XTENSICN OF THE PARiCSIG RESTRICTED AREA IN THE VICINITY OF PACIFIC COAST PRMXMS CANNERY NMCE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Wednesday, October 1, 1986 at the hour of 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, the Lodi City Council will conduct a public hearing in the Council Qnambers, City Hall, 221 West Pine Street, Lodi, Califoznia, to consider the extension of the parking restricted area in the vicinity of Pacific Coast Producers Cannery. Residents in the vicinity of the Pacific Coast Producers Cannery recently brought their concerns to the Council regarding the parking situation just north of the existing residential permit area (north of Tokay Street) . The following restrictions were requested to be implenmted: A. Two-hour parking, Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. B. Marked parking spaces on the subject streets so when parking spaces are used, cars will not be packed in tightly and partially onto the corner of driveways. C. Had paint on each corner of a driveway so drivers will know exactly when a citation will be given when parked too close to the end of a driveway. D. A crosswalk on Stockton Street at the intersection of Eden Street for children and pedestrians crossing Stockton Street.
