Dear Mayor Olson:
Olson
The Emergency Medical Services Awareness Week Committee composed
of medical and emergency services representatives from throughout
the county for some time have been planning an Emergency Medical
Services Awareness Week observance for the week of September 18
through 24, 1983.
This is designed to be a coordinated effort to focus attention on
emergency medical services that are available in the various com-
munities and to conduct an education program directed to the
general public. The education program will heighten the aware-
ness of what is available in the field of emergency medical ser-
vices and what actions individuals should take in emergency
situations. Several cities are planning displays or special
programs during Awareness Week.
As a part of the education and recognition aspect of the obser-
vance, the committee is asking the county and cities in the
county to proclaim the week. Copies of sample resolutions are
attached for your information.
In some cities, representatives of emergency medical services may
want to receive the proclamation during the council meeting.
Cordially,
DONALD E. DRAKE
Public Information Officer
