Salas Park Improvemnts. TO THE CITY COUNCIL FROM THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE -4=NCIL C051MUNICATI($T DATE 9/20/83 NO. SUBJECT: ROBERTI-Z'BERG GRANT OF $35,000 FOR SALAS PARK We have an opportunity to receive an additional $35,000 for Salas Park through the Roberti-Z'Berg Urban Open -Space and Recreation Program. Mark Lindseth has discussed this with Doug Ralston, who handles the grants in Sacramento, and it appears that it is merely a matter of making out the application. I should point out that we have to match 25% of the $35,000 requested, but since we have accomplished all of this work at the park, the purchase of the land can be used as matching; therefore, there is no money required "out-of-pocket" at this time. We are recommending that the money be used to put in playground apparatus at the park. Hopefully, the City Council will see their way c1Erar to adopt the resolution making it possible to use this grant. 411 Ed DeBenedetti, Director Recreation and Parks Dept.
