The Management Information Systems Committee, in recent meetings, has been analyzing a number of departmental requests for both hardware and software. Within the next few months these questions will be resolved and recommendations in this area will then be presented to the City Council. We anticipate these additional expenditures will be comfortably within the City's funding capabilities." The Management Information Systems Committee (MIS) was formed approximately 31 years ago to assist the City Manager in making decisions on recommendations to the City Council regarding the acquisition of various computer systems to best address the City's needs. All departmental requests for initial system purchase or upgrade are reviewed by this committee. The committee is comprised of the Assistant City Manager, Finance Director, City Clerk and one representative each from the Police Department, Fire Department and Public Works Department, all of whom are familiar in varying degrees with computer capabilities and applications.
