WATER WELL
ABANDONMENTS, 1987
RES. NO. 87-116 Council was apprised that the contract for water well
Abandonments, 1987, includes the abandonment of four wells:
CC -12(a)
- Old Well 7 located atop the levee in Lodi Lake Park;
- 6" Well located in the undeveloped 13 acres west of
Lodi Lake;
- Old ►dell 6 located in an alley north of Vine Street
west of Washington Street;
- Well 11R test well located on Sargent Lane west of
the Central California Traction Company tracks.
The wells will be filled with concrete and surface
improvements removed.
Part of the reason for the overrun is due to the inclusion
of abandoning two test wells that were not included in the
original estimate.
Plans and specifications for this project were approved on
August 5, 1987.
The City received the following two bids for this project:

Arthur Orum Well Drilling $24,134.00
Council adopted Resolution No. 87-116 awarding the contract !
for "Water Well Abandonments, 1987" to Clark Well and
Equipment Company in the amount of $15,148.00 and
appropriated an additional $7,000 from the Water Capital
Outlay fund to complete the project.

AGENDA TITLE: Award Contract for Water Well Abandonments, 1987
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council award the contract for the above
project to Clark Well & Equipment Company, Inc. in the amount of $15,148.00,
and appropriate an additional $7,000 from the Water Capital Outlay fund to
complete the project.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This project includes the abandonment of four
wells —.-
° Old Well % located atop the levee in Lodi Lake Park;
° 6" Well located in the undeveloped 13 acres west of Lodi Lake;
Old Well 6 located in an alley north of Vine Street west of
Washington Street;
° Well 11R test well located on Sargent Lane we „ of the Central

RESOLUTION NO. 87-116
AWARD - CONTRACT FOR WATER WELL ABANDONMENTS, 1987
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance with 'taw
and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were received and publicly
opened by thr City Clerk of this City on August 26, 1987 at 11:03 a.m. for the
contract for Water Well abandonments, 1987, described in the specifications
therefor apprured by the City Council August 5, 1987; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and tabulated and a
report thereof filed with the City Manager as follows:

Clark Well and Equipment Co.,Inc. $15,148.00
Arthur Orum Well Drilling $24,134.00
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award for the contract for
Water Well abandonments, 1987, be made to the low bidder, Clark Well and
Equipment Co., Inc.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lodi that award of contract for Water Well abandonments, 1987, be and the same
is hereby made to Clark Well and Equipment Co., Inc., the low bidder, in the
amount of $15,148.00.

I hereby certify that Resolution No. 87-116 was passed and adopted
by the City Council of the City of Lodi in a regular meeting
held September 2, 1987 by the following vote:
