SURjECT:
PURCHASE OF PASSENGER VAN
PREPARED BY:
Assistant City Manager
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Council consider the purchase of an eight to twelve
passenger van and take action as appropriate.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: from time to time the City has had a need to transport
from five to ten people or more to meetings, conferences,
on sight inspections and the like. We have heard from
Councilmembers and Department Heads that a small passenger van would be a useful
addition to our vehicle fleet.
We have investigated the availability of a used vehicle and found that from time to
time such vehicles are available. The cost of an eight to twelve passenger vehicle
will range from 512,000 to $15,000, depending upon the size and appointments.
If the City Council wishes to purchase a vehicle of this type, we ask they approve
$15,000 be expended from the following Operating Reserves.

. General $ 6,150
. Electric 7,950
. 'mater 600
