On motion of Councilman Katnich, Murphy second,
Council adopted Resolution No. 81-113 awarding
the contract for furniture for Fire Station No. 2
to M. Newfield and Sons at a cost of $7,753.62.

RECOMMENDED
urnishing_RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council award the bid for the above project
to M. New ie d and Sons, the low bidder, in the amount of $7,753.62.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Plans and specifications for this project were
approved by the City Council on Auvust 5, 1981. Bids were opened on Wednesday,
Augist 19, 1981, and the following bids were received:

It is felt tha M. Newfield and Sons should be awarded the bid.

AWARD - CONTRACT FOR FIRE STATION # 2 FURNISHINGS
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance
with law and ti,.! order of this City Council, sealed bids were
received and publicly opened by the City Clerk of this City on
August 19, 1981 at 11:00 a.m. for the contract for Fire Station
#2 Furnishings as described in the specifications therefor approved
by the City Council August 5, 1981; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and
tabulated and a report thereof filed with the City Manager as
follows:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Lodi that award of contract. for Fire Station #2
Furnishings be and the same is hereby made to M. Newfield and
Sons, the low bidder, in the amount of $7,753.62.

RESOLUTION NO. 81-145
AWARD - CONTRACT FOR ASPHALT MATERIALS - SECOND
QUARTER FISCAL YEAR 1981-82
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in accordance
with law and the order of this City Council, sealed bids were
received and publicly opened by the City Clerk of this City on
October 7, 1981 at 11:00 a.m. for the Contract for Asphalt
Materials - Second Quarter Fiscal Year 1981-82 as described in
the specifications therefor approved by the City Council
September 16, 1981; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and
tabulated and a report thereof filed with the Cit! Manager as
shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and thereby made a part
hereof.
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that award be made
to the low bidders as follows:

Item No. 2 A & B
Industrial Asphalt Item No. 2 C
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Lodi that award of Contract for Asphalt Materials -
Second Quarter Fiscal Year 1981-82 be and the same is hereby
made to Claude C. Wood Company and Industrial Asphalt, the
low bidders, in the amounts shown on Exhibit "A" attached hereto.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The specifications for asphalt material was approved by
the City Council at its meeting September 16, 1981 and three (3) bids were received.-

bid was requested in July 1981.
