FROM: TME CITY MANAGM OFFICE August 11, 1982 Destruction of Certain Utility Department Records The Utility Department has requested permission to destroy files dating back to 1964. Inasmuch as these documents are more than two years old, and the City Attorney has given his written consent for their destruction purusant to Government Code Section 34090, it is hereby requested that the City Council adopt a resolution authorizing the destruction of the subject records. Reimc e City Clerk RESOLUTION NO. 82-86 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN UTILITY DEPARTMENT RECORDS In accordance with Government Code Section 34090, the City Attorney has filed his written consent to the destruction of the Utility Department records listed on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and thereby made a part hereof. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi that: 1. The records heretofore identified are no longer required. 2. The City Council of the City of Lodi finds that the City Attorney has given his written consent to the destruction of the heretofore described records and the destruction of these records is hereby 7uthorized. FILES This memorandum is written to request permission to dispose of Utility Dept. files containing copies of bidding documents (specifications and bid proposals) for cable, transformers, electric meters, wooden poles, capacitors, street light standards, generators and vehicles. This covers the period 1964-1976 This request is made due to the lack of filing space in existing Utility Department files and the fact that these records no longer serve any useful purpose to the department.
