It is now known as the County of San Joaquin Human Service Agency. The Director of the Department of Public Assistance is now the Director of the newly formed Agency with Charlotte Humphrey the Director of the Department of Aging and Community Services. All Commissions and Boards remain the same. Enclosed you will find an organizational chart to explain all placements of Community Service Agencies. In the fourteen months I have been your appointee on the Commission, I have been serving on several committees pertaining to Housing, Health and Long Term Care. In this past year I also chaired the task force on the Abuse of the Elderly. The results of this committee was the establishment of a transitional care facility, funded by the Department of Aging, Department of Public Assistance and County Mental Health. One of the largest issues facing the state and local commissions is Long Term Care. Due to statewide cutbacks. in Human Service grants more and more care of our elderly will falh to counties and cities. A task force has -.'been formed, -with representatives from the Medical community, HeAlth Care ,Facilities, Commission on aging and appointees of the County Supervisor's districts.'`.It` is my pleasure to serve on this important committee. As these issues and many others are looked at, and hopefully- some of them solved, I will be reporting back to the City Council. Trella B.
