SUBJECT: Award Bid to Apply Class II Slurry Seal to City Streets
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council award the bid to apply Class II
Slurry Seal to Valley Slurry Seal Co.. `acramento, California.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The specifications to apply Class 11 Slurry Seal to
City streets were approved by the City Council at its meeting July 18, ')84 and
three (3) bids were received.
Slurry sealing costs have not changed since the last time the City requested
bids, which was August 1983.
Following is the tabulation of the bids received:

RESOLUTION NO. 84-119
AWARD - BID FOR CLASS I1 SLURRY SEAL
WHEREAS, in answer to notice duly published in
accordance with law and the order of this City Council, sealed
bids were received and publicly opened by the City Clerk of
this City on August 1. 1984 at 11:00 a.m, for the contract for
Class II Slurry Seal as described in the specifications
therefor approved by the City Council July 18, 1984; and
WHEREAS, said bids have been compared, checked, and
tabulated and a report thereof filed with -;.he City Manager as
follows:

California Pavement Maintenance $29,688.79
Graham Contractors $30.387.15
Valley Slurry Seal $27,651.15
WHEREAS. the City Manager recommends that award be
made to the low bidder, Valley Slurry Seal.
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Lodi that award of contract for Class lI Slurry
Sea' be and the same is hereby mace to Valley Slurry Seal, the
low bidder, in the amount of $27,651.15.
