Staff was directed to pursue the feasibility of installing some type of protective device which might also serve as a sun screen or shade structure. Parks and Recreation Director Ed DeBenedetti has asked the architectural ficin of Morris and Wenell to prepare a preliminary design. The structcres will need to be substantial to insure the oafety of the spectators, Particularly if we are to achieve shade as well. Even the lightest of screens require appropriate design because of weight.
