Council was apprised that Geweke Properties, the developer
of the Geweke Motel Development on Maria Lane, has
C.submitted a parcel map containing three parcels one of
which will contain a motel. They have signed a development
agreement, paid the necessary fees, supplied the guarantees
for off-site improvements, and submitted the insurance
certificates.

SUBJECT: Geweke Motel Development Agreement
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council approve the development agreement for
the Geweke Motel development on Maria Lane, adopt a resolution granting access
rights on Cherokee Lane, and authorize the City Manager and City Clerk to sign
the agreement on behalf of the City.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Geweke Properties, the developer of this property, has
submitted a parcel map containing three parcels, one of which will contain a motel. .
They have signed a development agreement, paid the necessary fees, supplied the
guarantees for off-site improvements, and submitted the insurance certificate.
The City controls abutter's rights on Cherokee Lane and the motel requires access
as shown on Exhibit B. The resolution granting this access is attached as
Exhibit A. /N

ESTABLISHING NEW ACCESS RIGHTS
TO A PARCEL OF LAND
LOCATED AT 1130-1140-1150 SOUTH CHEROKEE LANE
WHEREAS, the City of Lodi is the successor and interest to the strip of
land in and to the access rights along and abutting Crierokee Lane within
the City Limits of the City of Lodi; and
WHEREAS, Daryl W. Geweke and Opal L. Geweke are desirous of establishing
one new driveway to the real property owned by them at 1130-1140-1150 South
Cherokee Lane having a frcntage of 467 feet; and
WHEREAS, said request appears reasonable to the City Council of the City of
Lodi.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lodi as
follows:
1. A 35 -foot driveway centered on parcel C (1140 South Cherokee 1 -ane)
of their property is hereby established.
2. This resolution is adopted on the express condition that Daryl W.
Geweke and Opal L. Geweke shall be fully responsible for the cost
of installing street improvements to comply with the Cherokee Lane
Beautification Plan as prepared by Paul Tritenbach, Landscape
Architect, dated November 8, 1966. Said beautification plans
required the installation of an automatic sprinkler system, the
planting and maintenance of turf, and the planting and future care
cf 8 Zelkova Serrata trees.
3. The cost of all of the improvements herein required, including
curb, gutter, sidewalk, street paving, and the installation of the
aforesaid landscaping, shall be at the cost and expense of Daryl
W. Geweke and Opal L. Geweke.
