This project was originally approved and budgeted for in the 1981 - 82 fiscal year. The improvements will be made by Southern pacific Railroad Company and include the installation of automatic gates and flashing light signals. Federal funds cover 90% of the project. The City is responsible for 10% which is estimated to be $13,600. TDA funds in the amount of $7,000 had previously been budgeted for this project. $7,000 of additional TDA funds will be needed to cover the updated installation and engineering costs. This special. allocation does not include funds to cover the future extension of sidewalk or curb and gutter.
