To Mobile Telephone Service Customers and Interested Parties:
For the past several years Pacific has been doing everything possible to
modernize Mobile Radio Telephone Service and convert to a Dial System.
Recent advances are encouraging and we expect completion of Improved
Mobile' Telephone Service (IMTS) prior to June 13, 1982.
In anticipation of -the conversion to IMTS, we have continued to render-
-mobile -service at -rates ordered in 1977. By its Decision No. 93313.5,
the Cal-ifornia- Public U-ti}ities Commission has directed Pacific to.
apply, no later than August 1, 1981, to adjust its mobile telephone
service rates to a compensatory level.
in -compliance vtth this order, Pacific has filed an application.with
the California Public Utilities Commission to increase mobile rates
to the levels described in the attached.
A copy of the application and related exhibits will be furnished
upon written request directed to R. B. Roche, 140 New Montgomery
Street, Room 1718, San Francisco, California, 94105.

(including a request to receive notice of the date, time and place of
