COUNCIL. COMMUNICATION
SUBJECT: Resolution of Intention to Abandon Portion of Easement at
Lots 14 thru 20, Westlake UnH No. 2 and Lots 35 thru 48, Westlake Unit No. i
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council adopt a resolution of intention toobandion
the easem, nts shown on t e attached map, refer it to the Planning Commission, and set the
matter for a Public Hearing on September 7, 1983.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The owners of 600 Rutledge Drive are desirous of building
a swimming pool and wou d—ince to use a portion of the rear easement. A preliminary review
indicates that from 2' to 6' could reasonably be abandoned without affecting the utilities in
the easement (CATV, PT, PG & E). City utilities are in the street. It appears reasonable to
include the entire block in order to facilitate future background construction.
The owners of the property have provided funds for the necessary advertising, and PG & E,
Pacific Telephone, and Lodi Cable T.V. have been notified of the proposed abandonment
and their apoval will be secured prior to the final action.
