ADOPTED Ordinance No. 1384 - An Ordinance of the Lodi City Cotmcil
Amending Title 15 of the Lodi Municipal Code Relating to
CC-24(b) On-site Fire Protection of Buildings and Construction
having been intrcduced at a Regular Meeting of the CoLncil
!-held July 2, 1986 was brought up for passage on motion of
Mayor Pro Tempore Olson, Hinchman second. Second reading
of the Ordinance was then adopted and ordered to print by
the following vote.-

Ordinance No. 1384 entitled "An Ordinance of the Lodi City Cm=il Amending
Title 15 of the Lodi Municipal Code Relating to Orr -Site Fire. Protection of
Buildings and Constriction" was introduced by the Lodi. City Council at its
regular meeting of July 2, 1986.
The Ordinance has been approved as to fozm by the City Attorney.
INDICA2W ACTION: Following reading by title, it would be appropriate for the
Lodi City Council to adapt Ordinance No. 1384.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE LODI CITY COUNCIL AMENDING TITLE 15
OF THE LODI MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO ON-SITE FIRE PROTECTION.
OF BUILDINGS AND CONSTRUCTION
BE IT ORDAIN BY THE LODI CITY COUNCIL.
SECTION 1. Title 15, Buildings and Construction Chapter 15.40 On-site
Fire Protection, Section 15.40.100 Access Maintenance, Subsection C
Parking Prohibitions, is amended to read as follows:
"C. Parking Prohibitions. If in the judgment of the Fire Chief

it is necessary to prohibit vehicular parking along private access
gays in order to keep them clear and unobstructed, he may require
the owner, lessee or other person in charge of the premises to
paint the curbs red and/or paint the edge of the roadway red to a

width of four inches, upon which is clearly marked the words 'FIRE
'
LANE' in white letters four inches in height having a 3/4" stroke,

at intervals of not less than 50 feet.

"At the property owner's expense, the Fire Chief shall direct the

owner, lessee or other person in charge to post at all entrances

and/or at the extremities of each fire lane a sign reading 'FIRE

(1), Lodi Police Department, 333-67271. 'Thereafter, it is
unlawful for such owner, lessee or other person in charge to fail

tD install and maintain in good condition the form of notice so

prescribed. When such areas are marked and signed as provided in
this subsection, no person shall park or leave standing a vehicle
adjacent to any such curb marking and/or contrary to such sign and
shall be subject to being towed or removed at the direction of a
peace officer.

All required signs shall be 24 inches vertically by 18 inches
horizontally. The miniumnn size lettering on the sign shall be as

"The sign face shall be white in color. All lettering or printing
shall be M4 ii, all 2" letters shall have a minim=
1/4" stroke, and all 1" letters shall have a miniman 3/16" stroke. -
S=ON 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed insofar as such conflict may exist.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be publislied one time in the "Lodi
News Sentinel", a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and
published in the City of Lodi and shall be in farce and take effect
thirty days from and after its passage and approval.
