OC -53(a) the City Clerk, Mayor Reid called for the Public Hearing
to consider:
a) The Planning Ca►mission's recommendation that the Land
Use Element of the General Plan be aanen(led by
redesignating Assessor Parcel No. 049-070-11, 42, 43
and 56 frUm Light or Medium Industrial to Heavy
Industrial.
b) The plying CamLissicn's rebamandation that Assessor
Parcel No. 049-070-11, 42, 43 and 56 be rezoned fran
R-1, Single -Family Residential or M-1, Light
Industrial to M-2, Heavy Industrial.
The matter was introduced by City Manager Peterson and by
Ommuiity Development Director Schroeder who presented
diagrams of the subject area and responded to questions
regarding the matters.
There were no persons in the audience wishing to speak on F
the matters, and the public ;

Following discussion, Council took the following actions:
a) On motion of Council Member Pinkerton, Hinchman second,
Council introduced Ordinance No. 1388 - An Ordinance
Amending the Land Use Element of the General Plan by
redesignating Assessor Parcel No. 049-070-11, 42, 43
and 56 from Light or Medium Industrial to Heavy
Industrial. The motion carried by unanimous vote.
b) On motion of Mayor Pro Tempore Olson, Snider second,
Council introduced Ordinance No. 1389 - An Ordinance of
the Lodi City Council rezoning Assessor Parcel No.
049-070-11, 42, 43, and 56 from R-1, Single -Family
Residential or M-1, Light Industrial to M-2, Heavy
Industrial. The motion carried by unanimous vote.

RECOMMEND ACTION. -At its meeting of Monday, June 9, 1986 the
Lodi City Planning Commission recommended that the City Council
take the following actions:
1. Amend the Land Use Element of the General Plan by
redesignating Assessor Parcel Nos. 049-070-11, 42, 43 and 56
from Liah*_ or Medium Industrial to Heavy Industrial;
and
2. Rezone Assessor Parcel Nos. 049-070-11, 42, 43 and 56 from
R-1, Single -Family Residential or M-1, Light Industrial to
M-2, Heavy Industrial.
BACKGROUND. The Planning Commission previously recommended a
light industrial designation for much of this area and the City
Council returned the natter to the Commission to consider heavy
industrial.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Wednesday, the 16th day of July,
1986 at the hour of 7:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter the matter may be heard,
the Lodi City Council will conduct a Public Hearing in the Clambers of the
Lodi City Council at 221 West Pine Street, Lodi, California, to consider the
Planning Canmission's recauTe ndation that the land use element of the General
Plan be amended by redesignating Assessor Parcel No. 049-070-11, 42, 43 and
56 from Light or Medium Industrial to Heavy Industrial.
Information regarding, this item may be obtained in the office of
the Caummity Development Director at 221 West Pine Street, Lodi, California,
or by phoning (209) 333-6711.
All interested persons are invited to present their views either
� fcr or against the above proposal. Written statements may be filed with the
City Clerk at any time prior to the Hearing scheduled herein and oral
statements may be made at said Hearing.
