Dear Ms. Fahrner:
Please be advised that your May 31, 1982 letter regarding
responsibility for the maintenance of trees and parkways
at 424 S. School Street was presented to the Lodi City Council
under communications at its regular meeting of June 16, 1982_
Following.a brief discussion, Mayor Reid referred the matter
to staff for investigation and asked that staff return to
the Council at its regular meeting of July 7 with a report and
recommendation on the matter.

This letter will confirm the action of the Lodi City Council taken at
its regular meeting of November 17, 1982 whereby the Council, by motion
action, voted not to deviate from the City's tree policy thereby denying
your request for removal of certain trees located in the parkway
fronting your property.

TREE POLICY
1. GFfyERAI
Trees which ore 50% or more within the public right of way
shall be considered City ►nes. This measurement shall be
taken at the base of the trunk of the ground surlocw.

5. Tree removal is necessary for o City improvement
Project; or
6. Tree causes repeated eetemive damage to utilities
or curb, guner and sidewalk.

I. When trees are dead
2. When trees are diseased beyond cure
3* When trees are hazardous to the public or necessary
