CALIFORNIA 95241 (209) 334-5631 Mr. Rodney Ro3a Lodi Tokay Rotary Club Lodi, California Dear Rod: HENRY A. CLAVES, it City Manager ALICE M REIMCHE City Clerk RONALD "4 STEIN City Attorney The Lodi City Council has given their wholehearted support of .Lodi Tokay Rotary Club's effort to underwrite the cost of Dial -A -Ride to the senior citizens in Lodi. In order for you to prepare your funding of this project, you should know that approximately 4500 people per month use this service. The cost of each ride is $3.00, however, the senior citizen pays only $.50. It is my understanding that your Club will be paying the $.50 for the senior citizens. The City, using its transportation funds, subsidizes the _. remainder of the cost. Our program is somewhat unique in that we contract with the local cab company to provide this service which has reduced the costs considerably. Your efforts are distinct in that I are not aware of any public transportation system that is supported by a local. service club. You can be sure that many people are interested in the success of this program. Again, you have the support of the entire City Council, and I stand ready to prov:i:de whatever assiatance is needed to make your program a success. Sincerely yours, (JERRY L.
