SET PUBLIC NEARING FOR CONSIDERATION OF BOYS' AND GIRLS' CLUB REQUEST FOR SITE
FOR NEW FACILITY
PREPARED BY: City Manager
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council set July 15, 1987 as the date
for a public hearing to receive public input
regarding the request of the Lodi Boys' and Girls'
Club for a ground lease in Blakely Park on which to site a permanent facility for
that organization.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: For the past six months the Parks and Recreation
Commission has had an on-going review of a request
of the Lodi Boys' and Girls' Club that the City
lease to the Club a corner (southeast) of Blakely Park for the construction of a
permanent facility for that organization. While the Commission is quite familiar
now with this request, the City Council has not yet had the opportunity to consider
this proposal in depth. With this in mind. I have scheduled this topic for the
"Shirtsleeve" session of July 7, 1987. Rep-esentatives of the organization have
been invited to attend.
Respectfully submitted,
Thomas A. Peterson
