OR 'JER (415) 543-7613 May 6, 1985 TO: THE STATE, COUNTY AND CITY OFFICIALS AND INTERESTED PARTIES PACIFIC GAS and ELECTRIC COMPANY (PGandE) hereby gives notice that in Application No. 85-05-012, filed with .the California Public Utilities Commission on May 6, 1985, it has requested authority -to increase its electric and gas rates and charges effective July 1, 1985, in accordance with the Conservation Financing Adjustment (CFA) for Operation of Conservation Financing Programs, Including a Zero Interest Loan Program, Cashback Rebate Program and Direct Weatherization Program. The proposed rates will increase electric revenues by $9,047,000 (less than one percent) and gas revenues by $55,061,000 (less than one percent)- for.. a total increase of $64,108,000 for the 18-month.period, July -1, 1885 to December 31, 1986. The increases:will not raise PGandE's rate of return above the level last found.to be just and reasonable by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC). PGandE also gives notice that in Application No.85-05-015, it has requested authorization to revise its gas and ;'electric tariffs effective` July 1, 1985, pursuant to the Residential Conservation Services (RCS). Balancing account. The balancingaccount was authorized. by the CPUC, to pass on the estimated 1985-86 costs of the federally -mandated RCS Program of residential energy ;audits and services. The proposed -rates will decrease POandE's gas revenues by about $2,345,000 (less than one percent) and will maintain electric revenues at their current level for the 18 -month period, July 1, 1985 to December 1,`1986.
