Council was reminded that the City of Lodi's
1985-86 Ccm vanity Block Grant projects are as
follows:

Blakely Park Swrimning Pools $ 180,000
Garfield Street Storm Drain $ 25,000
SalasPark Shade Structure $ 25,000
Providing Handicap Access to City
Hall and Carnegie Library
building $ 167,000
Because of the extreme difficulties in using
Block Grant Funds for engineering or
architectural services, we are reccrmerding that
General Fund dollars be used for the design of
the Blakiey Park and Garfield Street
Projects. This action would be similar to the
engineering allocation made for the 1984-85 storm
drain Block Grant projects.
Staff indicated that it is their intention to use
the existing design of the Lodi Lake Shade
Structure for the Salas Park project and
acccrcglish any additional engineering in house.
The architectural services required for
modifications to City Hall and the Carnegie
Library will be done by the architect who is
currently retained and funded out of Revenue
Sharing Funds.
The engineering and architectural funds needed
are as follows:

SUBJECT: Allocation of Engineering and Architectural Funds
for Block Grant Projects
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council allocate $17,500 for engineering and
architectural services for the design of the Blakely Park Swimming Pool and
Garfield Street Storm Drain Projects.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City of Lodi's '85-86 Community Block Grant projects
are as follows:

Providing Handicap Access to City Hall and
Carnegie Library building $ 167,000
Because of the extreme difficulties in using Block Grant Funds for engineering
or architectural services, we are recommending that General Fund dollars be
used for the design of the Blakely Park and Garfield Street projects. This
action would be similar to the engineering allocation made for the '84 -85 storm
drain Block Grant projects.
It is our intent to use the existing design of the Lod: Lake Shade Structure
for the Salas Park project and accomplish any addition engineering in-house.
The architectural services required for modifications to City Hall and the
Carnegie Library will be done by the architect who is currently retained and
funded out of Revenue Sharing Funds.
