Re: Woodbridge School General Pian Amendment and Annexation Request
Dear Mayor Reid and Members of the Council:
On Jure 16, 1987, the Lodi Unified School District Beard of
Trustees adopted Resolution 87-61, respectfully requesting
that the City Council place the Woodbridge School property
on the November 1987 ballot for general plan amendment
consideration by city voters. The District also respect-
fully requests that the Council subsequently consider
annexation of the Woodbridge Schoo, property to the City
of Lodi.
As directed by the Board, I hereby transmit a copy of Resolution
87-61 and thank you for your favorable consideration. If we may
provide further information or be of assistance to you, please
do not hesitate to contact us.

RESOLUTION 87-61
REQUEST FOR PLACEMENT OF WOODBRIDG,E SCHOOL PROPERTY
ON THE NOVEMBER, 1987 BALLOT FOR AMENDMENT TO THE CITY GENERAL PLAN
AND REQUEST FOR ANNEXATION
WHEREAS, 75% of the pupils attending Woodbridge Middle School are
residents of the City of Lodi; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the District and the students,
staff and parents of Woodbridge School for Woodbridge School to be on
City water and sewer; and
WHEREAS, other City services. including police protection, would be of
benefit to the school, and, in some cases, are already benefitting the
school; and
WHEREAS, such services are not available without annexation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lodi cannot consider an annexation request unless it
is consistent with the City General Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City General Plan can be amended to include the Woodbridge
property for consideratin only by a vote of City residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board of Trustees hereby requests
that the City of Lodi include the Woodbridge School Property on the November,
1987 ballot for General PIan Amendment consideration.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Board of Trustees hereby requests that
the Lodi City Council favorably consider annexation of the Woodbridge
School property as soon as it is legally possible.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Facility Planner, Mary Joan Starr or the
Superintendent, Neil Schmidt, or the Assistant Superintendent, Ronald Alsup,
are hereby directed and authorized to execute all documents on behalf of
the District, and to transmit this request to the Lodi City Council.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of June, 1987 by the following vote of the
Board of Trustees of the Lodi Unified School District, to wit:
AYES: Dale, Johnston, Bali, Todd, Derrick, Meyer, Vatsula

Dear Mr. Alsup:
Please be advised that your June 17, 1987 letter advising of the Lodi
Uni`ied School District Board of Trustees request to place the
Woodbridge School property on the November 1987 ballot for general plan
amendment and the subsequent annexation of the property to the City of .
Lodi was presented to the Council at its regular meeting of June 17,
1987.
Council directed that this request be placed on the Agenda for the July
1, 1987 Council meeting. 3
