AGENDA TITLE: Accept improvements Under Lockeford Street Improvements,
Pleasant Avenue to SPRR, Contract
RECOMMENDED ACTION: That the City Council accept the improvements for
"Locke.ird Street Improvements, Pleasant Avenue to SPRR" and direct the
Public Works Director to file a Notice of Campletion with th^ County
Recar er s -o. ice.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The contract was awarded to Claude C. Wood Company
of Lodi on A gust 6, 1986, in the amount of $221,291.50. The contract has
been completed in substantial conformance with the pians and specifications
approved by the City Council.
The contract completion date, with extensions for winter, was June 24, 1987,
and the actual completion date is June 12, 1987. The final contract price
was $260,500±. The difference between the contract amount and the final
contract price is mainly due to:
1. Removal and replacement of driveways charged to others $ 5,300
2. Grinding at rail to provide good final surfacing 2,500
3. Asphalt overrun
a. Error in calculations 10,800
b. Work being billed to SPRR 7,100
4. Removal of gas tank 1.000
5. Replacement of catch basin line i1000
6. Overrun in paving for leveling course 10,000
