BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The City advertises for asphalt material on a quarterly 3 basis. This bid will cover asphalt material needed during the first quarter of fiscal year July 1, 1982 through September 30, 1982. GLAVES. tvnaae rr a NOTICE TO BIDDERS AND SUPPLIERS OF ASPHALT MATERIAL The City of Lodi invites sealed proposals for furnishing asphalt material for the first quarter of fiscal year 1982-83 conforming to specification: on file in the office of the Public Works Director, City Hall, Lodi, CA, where copies of said specifications may be inspected or obtained. Sealed proposals shall be delivered to the Purchasing Agent at Lodi City Hall, P.O. Box 320 (221 W. Pine Street), Lodi, CA 95241-0320, on or before: 11:00 A.M., WEDNESDAY, JUNE 30, 1982 and will be opened on the above day and hour in the City Hall Council Chambers, City Hall, Lodi, CA. The City of Lodi reserves the right to reject any or all bids, or to accept other than the lowest bid. Reference is hereby made to said specifications for further details, which specifications and this notice shall be considered part of any contract rade pursuant thereto. James W. Pi�S Street), Lodi, CA 95241-0320, until 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 30, 1982, at which time they will be publicly opened and read for the following quantities of asphalt material: Item No. 1: 1700 Tons of Dense Grade Asphalt Concrete, Type B, 3/8" Item No. 2: 250 Tons of Dense Grade Asphalt Concrete, Type B, 1/2" BID REQUIREMENTS 1. All bids shall be submitted on the bid proposal form attached. 2. Asphalt concrete shall be delivered into the hopper of paving.machine at the time, rate and location as determined by the City Engineer. 3. All asphalt material shall comply with the requirements and amendments of the 1981 Standard Specifications published by the Division of Highways, California Department of Public Works. 4. Asphalt concrete shall be Type B and shall conform to the provisions of Section 39 of the Standard Specifications and these special provisions. The amount of asphalt binder to be mixed with the aggregate shall be between 4 percent and 7 percent by weight of the dry aggregate. The supplier shall submit an asphalt concrete mix design by a certified testing laboratory 30 days after award of bid. All bituminous binder shall be viscosity grade ARS -4000 liquid asphalt, conforming to those applicable parts cf Section 92 of the Standard Specifications. 5. Successful bidders shall supply asphalt material at bid price from July 1, 1982 through September 30, 1982, a total of three months. 6. Partial bids may be submitted. 7. The City of Lodi reserves the right to increase or decrease any of the quantities within reasonable limits (p1uz, or minus 25X). 8. The award will be made by the Lodi City Council at its meeting on Wednesday, July 7, 1982. Specifications for Asphalt Material y Page 2 9.
