ASSEMBLY REPUBLICAN LEADER
June 11, 1982
Ms. Alice M. Reimche
City Clerk
City Nall, 221 West Pine Street
Post Office Box 320
Lodi, California 95241
Dear Ms. Reimche:
Thank you for your recent letter on state aid to local governments.
We are in complete agreement that the Governor's proposalto
cut $450 million from local funding is totally unacceptable. My Assem-
bly Republican colleagues and i are insisting that at least $200 million
be added to the budget for local government aid The Governor's proposal
would restructure the financial relationship to the extent that some
cities would acutally be subsidizing the state budget.
Your expression of views is most welcome and appreciated. We
will continue together to assure adequate funding for vital local services.
Sincerely,
ROBE W. NAYLOR
