DATE �ROIV�:�THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE May: 29, 1985 SUBJECT: - ,SU WHICH WUUID ALUK_ , CHAIRN%N TO SERVE A THREE-YEAR CONSEc.'UI'IVE TERM ON THE LODI ARTS COMMISSION Under the heading of "Chairman", Resolution No. 82-30 - A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Dodi establishing a Lodi Arts Commission in the City of Lodi provides that "after the first year, the fifteen members of the Commission will,'by a majority vote, elect the Chairman from among their nu nber" . Further, the Resolution provides that the Chairman shall serve at the pleasure of -the City Council, but not in excess of two consecutive years per term. The members of the Lodi Arts Commission have indicated their desire to have Q innett`Mitchell serve another term as chairman. In order for this to be possible, it will be necessary for the Lodi City Council to adopt a Resolution granting a one-time exception, to Resolution No. 82-30, thereby allowing Gwinnett Mitchell to serve a third consecutive term as chairman. Reimche City Clerk t RESOLUTION NO. 85-62 RESOLUTION APPROVING EXCEPTION TO RESOLUTION NO. 82-30 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING LODI ARTS COMMISSION IN THE CITY OF LODI THEREBY ALLOWING THE CHAIRMAN TO SERVE AN ADDITIONAL CONSECUTIVE TERM RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Lodi does hereby approve an exception to Resolution No. 82-30 - "Resolution Establishing a Lodi Arts Commission in the City of Lodi" whereby the Chairman of the Lodi Arts Commission, Gwinnett Mitchell is allowed to serve another term. I hereby certify that Resolution No. 85-62 was passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Lodi in a regular meeting held June 5, 1985 by the following vote: Ayes: Council Members - Olson, Snider, and Hinchman (Mayor) Noes: Council Members - Pinkerton, and Reid Absent: Council Members — None h7l &mck . .
