On"behalf of the over 600 Chamber of Commerce members, I Would appreciate your supporting the re-evaluation of expenditures, by the California Transportation Commission, with regards to plantings and beautification as set forth in the letter. We strongly feel that the appropriation for maintenance and rehabilitation of highways should be the first priority for budget dollars. We do not agree that plantings and beautification of highways should be included as top priorities as indicated in the present schedule of STIP. California has always been acclaimed throughout the world for the excellent. and safe highway/freeway system that we have always erdeavered to maintain.
