Dear Connnissioner:
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Lodi District Chamber of Commerce
and the Highway and Transportation Committee, we urge you to re-evaluate
priorities when considering highway expenditures for the new budget.
We strongly feel that the appropriation for maintenance and rehabilitation
of highways should be the first priority for budget dollars. We do not
agree that plantings and beautification of highways should be included as
top priorities as indicated in the present schedule of STIP.
California has always been acclaimed throughout the world for the excellent.
and safe highway/freeway system that we have always erdeavered to maintain.
We need to take steps now to continue this outstanding system.
Sincerely,
R. L. "Bob" Cray
President
